What is ”Project ANIMA”？

Project ANIMA launched in December 2017 with the aim of “creating a new original anime series dedicated to anime fans in the 2020s.”

We solicited ideas for anime from the general public, both professional and amateur, and received more than 8,000 entries in a total of three categories.

SAKUGAN was selected in the first “SF / Robot Anime Category” and SATELIGHT decided to turn it into an Anime series for TV.

In December 2019, open auditions for voicing the role of the heroine “Memempu” were held, and newcomer Amane Kanon assumed the role.

One day in the distant future. Humans live shoulder to shoulder in “colonies” separated by rock.

Outside the colonies, a dangerous undeveloped area called “the Labyrinth” is expanding. Those who risk their lives to develop “the Labyrinth”, who mark out the undeveloped areas, are known as “Markers”.

A young girl, Memempu, who wants to be a Marker one day, and a man, Gagumber, who used to be one.

This mismatched father and daughter now take on the Labyrinth!
